Last week we began with 2 Samuels 6:21–22 and we saw King David, God’s chosen king as he stood before the people, as he stood before the ark of the covenant and as he removed his crowns, his robes and he removed everything down to his underwear. And he humbled himself before the Lord and he danced before the ark of the covenant all the way up to the tabernacle. And David said he played before the Lord and it’s just the most magnificent view. We know God is all powerful, we know that He knows everything we know; that He’s everywhere, every when. But did you know Him in His attribute of playfulness? The whole plan of redemption is to secure us in intimate relationship with Him in order that we might play.
